Drink Water

Did you know beverages are the number one source of excess calories? Soda, processed juice, alcohol, and energy drinks cause more than weight gain. Alcohol destroys the liver; carbonation destroys your bones; and artificial additives skew your body’s natural chemistry.

There are many beverages that we should avoid. These include specialty coffees, soda, alcohol, energy drinks, and some fruit juices. These drinks are typically high in sugar, have empty calories, and other artificial sweeteners and additives that do more harm than good. Sugary beverages are more expensive and typically require taking more time out of our day to go purchase.

Drinking your calories isn’t the best thing to do, some of the reasons to stop this are:

  • Weight gain
  • Empty calories
  • Liquids don’t keep you feeling full
  • Insulin resistance
  • Expensive and less convenient

The best thing we can drink is water. Our bodies are made up of about 60% water! Water is used in all areas of our body to keep our temperature regulated and make sure our bodies properly function. Staying hydrated helps us to be able to properly digest food, remove waste, and protect our bodies.

Drinking water in comparison to other beverages will significantly decrease the amount of calories you intake. Water gives you energy, fights against sickness, and hydrates your skin, hair, and organs. It also can help you eat less if consumed before a meal and can speed up your metabolism. Water is inexpensive, easily accessible, and refreshing.

Start watching what you drink, substitute for better options, and take note of how much better you feel!

There is no better beverage choice than clean, pure water. Drink up!
